What a beautiful peaceful stay. This home was the perfect getaway for my daughter's 15th birthday as her and a few friends got to share the top room in "their own" space, whilst my husband and I with our other 2 younger children and their friends enjoyed the main house. It gave the whole family the perfect weekend away. The staff are so friendly and helpful and Liz was amazing with helping out in organising catering of birthday cakes, yummy breads and treats. We can definitely recommend the Limoncello and getting organised before hand with the very helpful email and advice that Liz offers. The beautiful, safe, private access to the beach means that the kids could come and go safely from the beach and retreat to an extremely well equipped kitchen and home.

A wonderful, peaceful South Coast holiday! The house is conveniently close to Durban, yet feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. We had a wonderful stay there. Our children thought it was great too. The beach is accessible directly from the property and has lovely rockpools.

The house and the location are absolutely beautiful. The sea views from the stoep are magnificent and the photos barely do the home and vistas justice. We spent a glorious week at the end of January. The weather was lovely and the beaches were empty. Our dogs had a fabulous time exploring the large garden and of course the beach. The house is tastefully furnished. The kitchen is suitably equipped for cooking and entertaining. The wrap around stoep is the best part of this home. We spend most of our time lounging on the stoep, watching the sea, the rising sun and moon and the glorious garden. I would love to have spent longer and will definitely return for another relaxing holiday.

Lovely homely house with gorgeous wrap around verandah, with great sea views. Super easy beach access. Kitchen is very well fitted & has everything you need. Liz is very hospitable as were all the staff on the property. We enjoyed our stay & look forward to visiting again.

We stayed at the cottage on the hill. It was such a beautiful view over the ocean, we sat most days on the patio with binoculars and watched the whales play in front of us. The house was very neat and clean and the cleaning ladies were super friendly. If you want to switch off your phone and just relax, this is definitely the place to go. We had an amazing time and will definitely go back again.

Shangrila lives up to its name and is indeed a piece of paradise. The house, the views and the gardens combined, make for a very special place! We loved our stay, the beach access and the dogs were in heaven with all the friends that came to play and sometimes guard the house at night. Liz and the team at Shangrila made us feel welcome from the word go and we were spoilt every day with beds being made and dishes washed. Highly recommended!
